Description

The female Elk had roamed away from the herd and was nibbling on grasses, and when she looked up, I took this photo. Perhaps elk, like us, need time alone sometimes. Having the sun shining from behind her caused her to have her silhouette lit up by a golden light as she stood there, and the crepuscular rays created a magical scene at sunset in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
