Description
Composite image of stages of the moon over the sun during the solar eclipse, 2017. We had driven to Glendo State Park in Wyoming, leaving the house at 3:30 a.m. to arrive at 9:15 (bumper to bumper at the exit), just in time to set up our tripods.
This image shows various stages of the moon crossing in front of the sun. A filter was used for all stages except totality, so the sun looks orange for those stages, I superimposed a dark image of the moon in front of all stages, rather than having total blackness. And I merged together 16 images of the various partial and total eclipse images of the sun as it might look if you could see the whole path taking place at once.
Photo(s) taken on August 21, 2017, at 11:47 a.m. in Glendo State Park, WY.

Not only is it a feat to capture the eclipse so elegantly, but I love your creativity with the moon face! L/F

One of the most cool and clever eclipse shots I have seen! So cool to see the moon positioned like that, and nice detail in the corona! Awesome!
