I think this is just about the cutest squirrel I've ever seen, so I had to take a picture! S/he was running everywhere in the snow, and was particularly happy to have found what looked like some seeds, which s/he gobbled up.

Pine Squirrels are solitary, except during mating season, which is late-February to April. They vigorously defend territories around larderhoards of tree seed. Pine Squirrels are associated with all things pine. They live in pine forests, nest in pines and depend on pine seeds for food. Their heavy reliance on tree seeds for food and cover restricts the species to mature forests.
