Despite it being a dark, cloudy morning, I was out looking for birds and was rewarded with a flutter and chirping above me. Looking up, I discovered these two Eastern Kingbirds, flirting and chasing each other. The female would alight briefly on a branch, and the male would fly over, whereupon she flew off and they would circle each other in the air. So fun to watch them courting! There's not as much feather detail in this image due to the dark conditions, which cameras have a hard time with.

This image has been digitally altered in Photoshop to achieve an artsy look that may appeal to some people. The same image is also available on FAA as a pure photo.
